Learning is growth. It starts from not knowing, evolving to knowing more, and to wanting to know more. I believe that a student’s growth needs to be recognized, and therefore included in the evaluation of their learning.
A teacher can not force a student to retain knowledge, but a teacher can instill passion for learning in their students. I believe that educators need to be the facilitator of passion and learning rather than the delivery machine of knowledge.
Society and thus the classroom are changing as the ability to be innovative and exploratory increases, making it a requirement in the classroom. I believe that educators have the duty to prepare students for their future, which means looking at their own methodologies and how they align with society, and its future.
